Firewood Sales

Established in 1999, we have been supplying firewood in Essex and Suffolk to both businesses and the public for over 25 years.

Suitable for wood-burning stoves and open fireplaces, our firewood is comprised predominately of well-seasoned, air-dried ash logs with a reputation for providing high heat, reduced smoke and long burn times.

All the firewood we sell is sourced locally and sustainably from our work in restoring neglected ancient coppice woodlands to their former glory.

At Crooked Billets our work is focused on the conservation of wild places. For many years we have been active in the management of ancient woodland sites for both Wildlife Trusts and private landowners.

Our current partnership involves the restoration of three ancient coppice woodlands in Essex with a total area of over 100 acres.

A deep respect for the woods we are entrusted to care for, and the plants and animals that reside therein, is at the heart of what we do.

Our loads of hardwood logs are over 80% ash with the remainder comprising of field maple, hazel and hornbeam. All our firewood is Ready to Burn and so complies with, or exceeds the requirements of The Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020.

We guarantee log moisture levels of 20% or below and are confident that ours is amongst the finest firewood in Essex and Suffolk.

We currently deliver firewood to the Essex, Suffolk border region from Royston and Saffron Walden in the west and beyond Haverhill to Sudbury in the east. For the complete area we serve please refer to our delivery area map.

Our logs are of the highest quality but we do strive to be competitive with pricing. Logs are sold loose by the cubic metre with discounts applied for larger orders. View our pricing table for more information. We offer logs in a variety of sizes to fit your wood burning stove or hearth.
